Highlights:
Your journey starts in Christchurch where you board the train for one of the most spectacular train journeys in the world. Travelling through the mountains to the seaside town of Geymouth. Wander around the Jade Boulder gallery, have lunch and start on your bike travelling south alongside the Tasman sea to Hokitika.
Stay in a chalet on the beach, walk to see the glow worms and next day set off for a round route of bush and lakeside. 'Feel' the quiet, listen to the native birds and swim in the lake. Set off again inland through a gold mining trail and a glimpse into the past, more bush, towards the mountains and more lakes. Back on the train to Christchurch, or go by bus and travel over the Otira viaduct.
